The Mishkat Nour Foundation for Science and Cultural Enlightenment organized a large charity festival in Montazah Park in Port Said. The festival was attended by Major General Adel El-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, Chairperson of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, and executive leaders from the governorate. The festival also included students from the foundation's school and thousands of residents from the valiant city's areas. This event was part of the foundation's celebration of providing 8 million services over the past seven years and honoring outstanding students at Mishkat Nour School. The Good Festival included a large number of activities, most notably the medical convoys organized by the Foundation in cooperation with the Health Care Authority. These convoys included five clinics: internal medicine, women's health, children's health, dermatology, and ear, nose, and throat. The convoys also included mobile clinics from the Health Affairs Directorate, with a team of more than 30 staff, and a blood donation convoy in cooperation with the Regional Blood Bank. The Good Festival also featured a handicrafts exhibition featuring more than 100 exhibitors, awareness seminars, sports and artistic talents showcased by specialists, and drawing workshops. In her address to the attendees, Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, Chairperson of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, praised the efforts of Major General Adel El-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, the Foundation's main supporter. This was not only due to his full support for Mishkat Nour and his assistance to our people, but also for his belief in and advocacy for the idea, his provision of all necessary facilities to ensure the delivery of various services to those who deserve them, and his eagerness to attend and share major events with his children and to stay in constant contact with our people. She extended her sincere thanks to the Governor and all the agencies involved in this charitable work and in assisting our people in the areas they serve. She also praised the Foundation's work team, adding that the Foundation celebrates providing nearly 8 million services to our people in all the governorates in which it operates. She noted that in the first half of 2024, 800,000 services were provided to the people of Port Said. She thanked the residents of the areas served by the Foundation for their response to its efforts in all educational, social, and cultural fields. She urged them to ensure that their children attend school to benefit from the activities it offers, whether establishing or teaching curricula, or teaching music, choir, playing instruments, drawing, sports, and behavioral modification, for both healthy children and those with disabilities.
Major General Adel El-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, expressed his great happiness to be present at this celebration at the Mishkat Nour Foundation, praising the efforts of Dr. Nour and the Foundation in building the Egyptian human being. This is the strategy and goal advocated for by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who set it as a goal for this phase, and what Mishkat Nour is working towards. Pointing out that Port Said has approximately 270 charitable organizations and associations, with no more than 20 active members, Mishkat Nour School is different. It is the only one that operates according to specific programs in all areas aimed at building human capital and modifying behavior, especially in the areas of education and job market preparation. This aligns with the state's approach, which aims to raise the status of citizens and provide all services for a dignified life. He said that the nation needs our cooperation, calling on everyone to rally around it to advance it.
The celebration, presented by the distinguished media personality Ali El-Farmawy, senior broadcaster on Egyptian television, began with the national anthem, followed by a recitation of the Holy Quran by a student from Mishkat Nour School. The foundation's choir, consisting of more than 50 male and female students, then presented an artistic performance, performing the songs "I am the Son of Egypt," "The Successful Person Raise His Hand," and "Thank You." The ceremony concluded with Major General Adel Al-Ghadban and Dr. Nour Al-Hoda Al-Gammal honoring the outstanding students at the Foundation's school, including healthy students, students with Down syndrome, and people with disabilities. This was a source of great joy for the students, parents, and large audience. The Governor, accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, inspected the medical and blood donation convoys and the crafts exhibition. He expressed his great happiness with the Foundation's activities and thanked Dr. Nour Al-Hoda Al-Gammal.
It is worth noting that the Mishkat Nour Foundation has provided 8 million services to citizens across various governorates since 2017, including 800,000 in the first half of this year in Port Said alone. This service has been provided in cooperation with all relevant agencies, including the Ministry of Health, Comprehensive Health Insurance, Education, Neighborhoods, the Executive Authority, Roads, Housing, Adult Education, and the National Population Council. The Foundation has been a pioneer in leading service, educational, and cultural activities. It was the first institution to announce the "Emaar" program for the reconstruction and development of alternative slum areas. It also pioneered the economic empowerment program, leading the education of more than 1,000 families in handicrafts, sewing, and embroidery, preparing them for the labor market, and organizing exhibitions to showcase their products. Mishkat Noor also took precedence in educational and cultural programs, with its activities centered on education, encompassing more than 1,000 male and female students per academic year, in addition to classes for Down syndrome and people of determination. The Foundation was a pioneer in the field of behavioral modification for both students and adults. This is in addition to its leadership in the feeding program. The Foundation provides thousands of free daily meals from the Mishkat Nour Tekke to our people in need in many governorates, most notably Port Said, where more than 1,000 meals cooked in the Mishkat Tekke were distributed at the ceremony. The Foundation also played a major role in providing relief to our people in Palestine, sending dozens of trucks to the Gaza Strip and delivering aid and donations to those affected by the war, in addition to organizing awareness seminars and various campaigns to raise awareness, education and training since 2017, especially with Dr. Omar Sharif, and within the program
