Port Said Tourist Port welcomed the ship Logos Hope
With the participation of Mishkat Noor, Port Said Port receives Logos Hope, the world's largest floating library.
Port Said Tourist Port welcomed the ship Logos Hope, the world's largest floating library, at the West Port Said Tourist Pier. The ship carried 50,000 books and 400 volunteers from 70 nationalities. The ship received a warm public and official welcome, as it was received by the Port Said Governorate, led by Major General Adel El-Ghadban, who personally supervised the preparations for its docking at the port.
The Governorate's Public Relations Department, led by Major Generals Mohamed Tayeb and Mohamed Masoud, and the Mishkat Noor Charitable Foundation, led by Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, a civil society organization, organized the reception ceremony in cooperation with the Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority, led by Walid Gamal El-Din; the Health Affairs Directorate, led by Dr. Ahmed Abu Hashem; the Education Directorate, led by Dr. Hala Abdel Salam; the Youth and Sports Directorate, led by Abdel Fattah Hafez; and the governorate's executive and security leadership. The ship was welcomed at the dock by folklore troupes who performed dance shows and folkloric songs, which the ship's crew interacted with. All of the children were eager to board the ship upon docking, with the children waving Egyptian flags. Today's arrival of the ship is part of the remarkable activity witnessed by the Authority's ports over the past year. Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, expressed his happiness at welcoming the world's largest floating library to Port Said, reflecting the capabilities of the economic zone's ports and the importance of cooperation between various state institutions in this regard.
The port activity witnessed by the Authority coincides with development work aimed at maximizing our capabilities in the field of logistics and maritime transport, given the critical importance of the location of the economic zone's ports on the Mediterranean and Red Seas. For his part, Major General Adel Rizk, General Manager of West Port Said Port, was keen to be present and welcome the ship's crew and tourists. He stated that the economic zone has prepared all necessary equipment for the marine passenger terminal facilities to ensure they can handle the increasing number of tourists visiting the port, especially since visitor traffic is expected to increase during the ship's stay. A number of social media influencers have been flocking to Port Said Tourist Port for days to announce the arrival of the ship. The ship arrived today to a warm welcome and great interest from various Egyptian media outlets and the public. The ship is scheduled to open its floating exhibition to thousands of daily visitors, including students and book lovers of various ages, from 13 to 65. Its doors will be open to visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., from January 5 to January 23, 2023.
