Major General Adel El-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, and Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Mishkat Noor Foundation, signed the "Month of Ethics" global protocol with James Perry, captain of the Logos Hope ship, the world's largest floating library, during the official and popular reception accompanying its docking at Port Said Port, which is the ship's second visit. The visit will last for approximately 20 days. Amid great fanfare, the Port Said Governorate and the Mishkat Nour Foundation, under the auspices of New Plan, organized an official and popular reception for the ship on Friday evening. The celebration began with an official ceremony aboard the ship, where the captain and crew of Logos Hope, Major General Adel El-Ghadban, welcomed the Governor of Port Said and executive, popular, and civil society leaders. The Governor welcomed the ship and its crew of 400 young men and women volunteers from around the world, expressing his happiness at their second visit to Egypt, 12 years after the first. He noted the unique nature of the governorate, which is unique among its counterparts in the world, as it is divided into two cities: Port Said, located in Africa, and Port Fouad, located in Asia.
For his part, Martin Grand, the captain's assistant, praised the reception by the governorate and officials and expressed the crew's happiness with the great turnout the ship is witnessing, demonstrating that its visitors are not only from Port Said, but from all over Egypt. He was particularly pleased given that the first day saw nearly 6,000 visitors. Martin also expressed his admiration for Port Said, its people, and their warm welcome. He said he cycled through the streets with 10 members of the crew and was met with a wonderful welcome by the people of Port Said, expressing his admiration for the city's beauty. This protocol is inspired by the ancient Egyptian Pharaonic civilization, which advocates for morality. It features sublime slogans and principles calling for human brotherhood and the rejection of negative traits and behavior. These are the calls made by the ancient Egyptians: "Do not steal, do not kill, do not lie, do not betray." El-Gammal presented the ship's crew with slogans and publications for the Month of Morals, which they will place on board and distribute at all the ports it docks in around the world, as a message of love from Egypt, the land of civilization, to the entire world. In the second part of the celebration, the governorate and the Mishkat Nour Foundation organized a popular and artistic reception, sponsored by New Plan Company, titled "Egypt: Civilization." The reception was produced and executed by the foundation and directed by Amr Ajami, its Director of Performing Arts and Folklore. Sixty artists, performers, and performers participated in the event, which was an invitation to spread the "September: Ethics Month" initiative globally via the Logos Hop ship. The event was held in Egypt Square, in the presence of the ship's captain, commanders, and a large number of its crew. Thousands of spectators attended the event. In a wonderful artistic show that began by shedding light on prehistoric Egyptian civilization in general and Port Said in particular, highlighting the role of the ancient cities of Beloz, Farma, and Tennis, which over time became Port Said. The performers performed a Pharaonic dance tableau, accompanied by music praising the Pharaonic hymn. In a nod to the evolution of time, the dances were transformed into contemporary dances featuring folkloric dances and sesame formations, amidst a wonderful atmosphere and dances that were greatly admired by the audience, especially foreign guests of various nationalities. The event was organized by the Ajamiat Academy. After the end of the operetta "Egypt of Civilization," a large number of the ship's crew participated in the show, performing a number of wonderful dances and formations amidst the cheers and interaction of the Egyptian public. Egyptian bands then joined in, creating a wonderful artistic tableau that was admired by everyone, especially the foreign guests, who were keen to take photos to celebrate with the dancers and the ship's visitors. The Foundation organized the event with more than 300 of its volunteers. The organization was also facilitated by the Public Relations Department of Port Said Governorate, the Youth and Sports Directorate, the Tourism and Tourism Promotion Directorate, the Ministry of Education, and the Egyptian Public Library.
