Under the patronage of Major General Adel El-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, the Mishkat Noor Foundation for Science and Cultural Enlightenment, led by Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Abdel Fattah Hafez, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, organized a sports meeting for the city's guests, including volunteers and staff of the Logos Hope ship, the world's largest floating library, and Port Said clubs. The meeting was attended by Edward Davis, the ship's General Manager.
The teams were divided into four groups: two for the ship's members and two for the Port Said national team. The meeting was held in the covered hall of the Sports City in the suburbs district, for a recreational sports meeting to welcome the ship. This was part of the cooperation protocol signed between the governorate and the foundation with the ship.
The teams played several matches in the five-a-side football, culminating in the Logos 1 and Port Said 1 teams advancing to the final match. Port Said won the first-place trophy, while the guests received the second-place trophy. The competitions concluded with a speech by Dr. Nour El-Hoda El-Gammal, who welcomed the guests and expressed the Free City's happiness with the ship's docking at Port Said for such a long period, meeting with diverse cultures from around the world. Edward Davis, the ship's manager, expressed his great happiness with the warm welcome the ship received in Egypt, saying that the sporting event between the two sides was the beginning of a great friendship.
Abdel Fattah Hafez conveyed the greetings of Major General Adel El-Ghadban, Governor of Port Said, who welcomed the sporting event to welcome the ship's members.
Dr. Nour and Edward Davis presented two cups, presented by the Mishkat Nour Foundation, to the first and second place winners, to the delight of everyone.
