Logos Hope
Because charity isn't just about helping one person, but rather extends to serving an entire community.
From here, our role on board the Logos Hope began.
We thought about how to show beautiful Port Said to all governorates in its true form, as a piece of Europe, and to raise Egypt's profile worldwide. We began working 26 days a week, without sleep or rest, with an integrated team—a single team intertwined with all executive bodies.
The goal was for 50,000 citizens from other governorates to visit Port Said.
As soon as the ship arrived,
1) We signed a global protocol with the ship, continuing our #September_Month_of_Ethics initiative, which we launched last September. We were the first people in the world to call for an entire month of ethics, and we asked Logos Hope to join us in spreading the idea in every country they visited.
Under this protocol, we raised awareness among approximately 40,000 of the ship's visitors with translated brochures on seven different ethical topics.
2) We worked with executive bodies under the auspices of the governorate and Major General Adel El-Ghadban, and with funding partnerships from major real estate companies. We organized a global reception for the ship and a diverse camp for the people of Port Said Governorate, featuring a popular monologue at the Mishkat Theater. A puppet theater was also presented for the first time in various languages. Handicraft carts made by the foundation, featuring crafts from more than 400 exhibitors, and a painting and music exhibition showcased Egypt as a land of art, talent, and acceptance of all cultures. We also hosted many other activities that were discussed in all the governorates that visited us, and in which the ship's crew participated with love and enjoyment.
- A Love Letter Reception (a Pharaonic celebration) in Egypt Square was attended by thousands of guests, including the Logos Hope crew.
- A community camp in the historic Ferial Park, which was almost reopened, was attended by the Logos Hope crew and thousands of visitors and guests from various governorates of the republic. A large number of artistic, cultural, and handicraft talents participated. - We took the young men and the ship's crew to all the sights in Port Said. They ate peasant flatbread, cheese, and honey, and had lunch with fish and shrimp. They took pictures while saying "Long live Egypt." They also recited messages such as "Come to Egypt," "Beautiful Egypt," and "Safe Egypt."
They visited Port Said's archaeological sites, churches, and mosques, and witnessed the generosity of Egyptians and the greatness of our history.
- We organized soccer matches between the Logos Hope team and the Egyptian Club, in cooperation with the Youth and Sports Ministry.
- We created a "translated puppet theater" for Logos Hope, with moral messages that impressed the ship's crew.
- We held a handicrafts exhibition with various exhibitors over three weeks in Egypt Square, so that Port Said's guests could see the creativity of Port Said's people and so that all the ship's staff from all over the world could see the creativity of Egyptians. They also received gifts from the teams as a memento of Port Said.
We made friends with people of different nationalities who will travel back to their countries with messages of peace and an ethical initiative that we hope will spread throughout the world.
As a result of this, and with the sponsorship and support of the Port Said Governorate and Major General Adel El-Ghadban, a number of things happened that made us happy:
1) Domestic tourism increased significantly, with over 100,000 people visiting Port Said from outside.
2) Our handicraft exhibitions were operating, and everyone was happy and satisfied.
3) Restaurants, shops, transportation, and the entire city were busy and happy.
4) We produced translated awareness brochures that impressed foreigners, who distributed them with us on the ship and took them with them on their trips.
5) We made friends with people from all over the world through the ship's youth, who came from different parts of the world and who said that they had never been more moved by their travels than by the youth of Port Said, their generous hospitality, and the greatness of their country. 6) We created translated banners about the importance of reading in the streets of Port Said, and translated banners about "bullying" in Ferial Park.
What is good if it isn't done properly in a way that benefits our country? How can it be called good?
We call on civil society in all governorates to support the tourism sector by doing what we have, working with executive bodies and forming funding partnerships with large companies to cover the costs of activities.
And now it's time to thank you:
Thank you to the Port Said Governorate, headed by Major General A.H. Adel El-Ghadban, for trusting us as organizers of all activities and coordinators of the ship's needs.
Port Said Governorate - محافظة بورسعيد
Thank you, Logos Hope guys. You were presenting your art shows with love and as volunteers with us, and we were all, with our different cultures, a model of civilized coexistence. Logos Hope
Thank you to all the companies that covered all the event costs and were happy to accomplish several things at once: bringing joy to the country, stimulating tourism, improving the economy, increasing sales, and sending a great message about Egypt's values, civilization, and beauty.
Thank you to all the wonderful young volunteers who worked day and night to give their best and showcase the beauty of Port Said.
Thank you to all our guests, including public figures, leaders, and media figures, who attended and were part of our success. They showcased the beauty of the country, encouraging more and more people to come back, and Port Said has strongly regained its position at the forefront of the domestic tourism map.
This was our goal, which we worked toward, because civil society's role is patriotic before it is service-oriented.
We will continue with you our massive project, which began in 2020: Tekkiet Mishkat, from our kitchens and from the kitchens of the people. Our goal is to provide food from the people to the people.
